Doctor Found Guilty in Ski-slope Attack on a 12-Year-Old Boy
A New Jersey physician was convicted this morning of Assault, for attacking a 12-year-old boy 3 years ago at Mountain Creek Ski Resort.
Doctor Samuel Caruthers, a resident of Mountain Lakes, was arrested and handcuffed in the week following the February 14 2016, incident, in which witnesses testified that he hit the boy with a ski pole, after the boy collided into him and his son, on the snowy slope.
According to the New Jersey Herald, the boy was treated for bruises on his chest and a cut on his mouth.
Caruthers, who works as an anesthesiologist, was charged by a Sussex County grand jury in June 2016, on multiple counts of Aggravated Assault, Child Endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The Sussex County jury found Caruthers guilty of Assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
The doctor has not yet been sentenced, A civil suit is expected to be filed by the boy's parents.
