Physician in Illinois Looks Like a One-man Crime Wave. Who Told?

In the city of Geneva a doctor has been sentenced to 8 years in prison after changing his "not guilty" plea to "guilty". This particular idiot MD finally confessed to operating an indoor marijuana farm in his St. Charles home.

Just what we want in our highest educated caregivers, right?

Doctor Mark G. Lewis pleaded guilty to felony charges of Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.

Lewis, age 58, was handcuffed and taken into custody on May 7, 2015, after the North Central Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant and discovered a secret indoor farm operation, complete with grow lights, filters, irrigation systems, ventilation fans and at least 100 cannabis plants, in the home's basement.

At the time of this doctor's arrest, Lewis was actually out on bail for a previous Sexual Assault charge, of a woman acquaintance in 2014.

Assistant State's Attorney Kelly Orland had pushed for a 10-year prison term, saying Lewis' grow operation was, "a felony while on bond."

The doctor's next trial, for Sexual Assault, is scheduled to begin in July. If convicted, he could get another 30 years in state prison.
