Manhattan Neurologist "Guilty" of Taking Upskirt Photos on Subway Stairs
New York doctor Adam Levinson, age 39 at the time of his arrest, was described as an assistant professor of urology at the Mount Sinai school of medicine, as well as an accomplished surgeon.
But Levinson, who plead guilty 3 years ago, was sentenced to 5 years’ probation for a single charge of unlawful surveillance, by Justice Richard Carruthers.
According to Levinson’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, the snoopy doctor voluntarily surrendered his medical license and it is temporarily suspended pending ongoing investigation. He got a no-jail sentence in Manhattan Supreme Court.
According to investigators, Levinson had a recreational habit of holding a rolled up newspaper in his hand with a camera-pen inside, as he went up subway stairwells. He was eventually witnessed by a former law enforcement officer walking directly behind women in short skirts, secretly filming them all the way up the stairs.
His arrest occurred near the busy Union Square station downtown. When police apprehended the doctor they confiscated the pen, which turned out to be a tiny video camera in disguise.
